Tottenham have made an offer to Boca Juniors defensive midfielder Wilmar Barrios to join them this summer, according to a Sky Sports journalist – but supporters are raging on Twitter.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports on his personal website that Spurs have made an offer to the player that would see him link up with compatriot Davinson Sanchez at White Hart Lane.
Fans do not think the Colombian 24-year-old is the quality that Spurs should be after, and believe that they should be signing proven players rather than unknown quantities such as Barrios.
One supporter bemoaned the fact that Manchester United sign a player like Fred, yet they are being linked with the little-known Colombian, and another hoped that they would be linked with better players than the 24-year-old.
With the future of Mousa Dembele as yet unclear after he failed to confirm or deny whether he would be leaving North London this summer in The Mirror, it spells the need for Mauricio Pochettino to delve into the transfer market to pick up a player who can step into the Belgian international’s shoes.
A report in the Independent states that the midfielder has a release clause in his contract of £14.5million.

This is hardly brave. Speculative at best. Proper, proven performers required. So Kovacic, Rabiot are more like it surely. Let’s see.

We need to spend big for player like Ndombele or Mateo Kovacic these too with Erik Dier.I would also like too see Spurs going in for Rabiot from (PSG) if we gona hold on to our best players we need to bring in something big to show them that we would like to fight for 1 place PL
