It is an exciting time for Leeds United as the club prepare for life under new manager Marcelo Bielsa, with the Argentine legend set to stamp his mark on the team this summer.

Bielsa will no doubt look to make as many signings as financially possible as he streamlines his squad to work within his notoriously tough coaching environment.

And it looks as though the club are setting their sights high already under the 62-year-old, with reports of a double striker swoop emerging on Sunday.

As reported by Sun transfer guru Alan Nixon, the Whites are interested in a move for Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban, who spent last season on loan in the Championship.

The club are alleged to want to bring in the Premier League ace alongside Derby forward Matej Vydra, who finished last season as the division’s top scorer with 21 goals.

Interestingly and excitingly, the man who finished just behind Vydra in that list was Grabban, who netted 20 times over his loan spells at Sunderland and Aston Villa in 2017/18.

The club’s desire to bring in two top Championship strikers alongside each other shows huge ambition at Elland Road, and could see them back in the promised land of the Premier League this time next year.

Having a player who scored 21 league goals last season playing up top alongside one who scored 20 goals would be a hugely exciting prospect for Leeds, and a frightening one for opposition defences.

Scoring goals was an issue for the Whites last season, with 59 over the campaign, and that would be a distant memory with these two up front.

They both have vast experience in the Championship, and even if they don’t hit top form for the majority of the season, will be guaranteed to score goals on a regular basis.

The efficiency of this new strike force along with the tactical genius of Bielsa will surely see Leeds fired to the top of the Championship table come next May, and the club must therefore pull out all the stops to pull off this double swoop.

It would be a huge statement of intent from the Elland Road club, and one which would put their rivals on the back foot before the season has even started.
