New Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has exciting connections at Premier League heavyweights Manchester City, Tottenham and Arsenal as he takes on his debut job in England, according to reliable journalist Phil Hay.

The Yorkshire Evening Post writer claims on his personal Twitter account, when probed by a Leeds fan about the sort of links the new man in the Elland Road dugout has, that the Argentine boss has contacts with both of the north London giants as well as the top flight title winners, which could hand the Whites a boost in the transfer and loan market over the coming months.

City boss Pep Guardiola has been very vocal in his admiration of the veteran coach in the past.

Opinion

This is the most exciting move that Leeds have made in the last couple of years and the prospect of having some off-hand partnerships with the Premier League giants will have the fans rubbing their hands with glee. As shown by Steven Gerrard’s connection with Liverpool at Rangers, Bielsa, one of the most reputed coaches not just in the country but worldwide, could make use of the links he has elsewhere as a trusted hand to guide young talent forward through the formative years in their development. The contacts he has built up across the footballing world will no doubt see Leeds try and hunt some new talents that would have been out of their reach before, and if Andrea Radrizzani does give his new man the required financial backing then there could be some stunning captures over the next couple of months. Business must kick off straight away after the delays this manager hunt has resulted in.
