With Marcelo Bielsa now in charge of Leeds United, the fans at Elland Road will likely be expecting a massive improvement when it comes to the club’s transfer business – and rightly so.

The Argentinian manager is one of the most reputed coaches in Europe and his arrival at the Whites has been regarded as a massive coup around the footballing world.

His connections at clubs will have led to the supporters hoping he will be able to pull some strings and get some brilliant talents through the doors, both permanently and on temporary deals, after the disappointment of the transfer window 12 months ago.

One link which might come off is Bielsa’s relationship with fellow countryman Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham, and Varksy Sports are claiming that a third Argentinian could be on the way between the two clubs in the shape of Juan Foyth, in what would be the first capture of the new Leeds man’s reign.

Leeds are in desperate need of new centre backs, with Matthew Pennington’s exit leaving the Whites light at the back, and while Foyth’s arrival would be a boost, there is a proven powerhouse who should also make the move.

Cameron Carter-Vickers spent time at both Ipswich and Sheffield United in the second tier last season and impressed with his domineering displays at the heart of defence.

The four cap United States international is unlikely to command a place among the first team in north London next season, but Spurs will likely want to keep him on their books as the 20-year-old continues to develop and grow.

Foyth and Carter-Vickers would be a brilliant double swoop for Bielsa, and help sort out a serious issue at the heart of defence.
