Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has stunningly threatened to never play for the club again if the Magpies refuse him a move to Fulham this summer, according to TEAMtalk.

The news website claims that the Serbian powerhouse has issued his ultimatum to the north east side after being shipped out on loan to the Cottagers for the second half of last season, where he hit the ground running.

It is stated that after scoring 12 goals in London, he wants to return permanently, and that the newly promoted side are the only club he wants to move to.

However, with Fulham said to be only offering £20million, and Newcastle seeking £30million, it could be a bombshell to the hitman’s hopes, and is warning that he will refuse to play for Rafael Benitez’s team if a move does not go through in what could be a major first team bombshell.

OPINION

Mitrovic’s future at St James’ Park looked bleak enough already but this dissidence shown towards the Magpies puts the final nail in the coffin, ending any hope of fans seeing his return. He absolutely tore the Championship to shreds with the Cottagers and is performing admirably on the international stage at Russia, so it is no wonder in this inflated market that Newcastle, themselves always looking for the best possible deal, are seeking £30million. However, Fulham are unlikely to sanction such a pricey move, and things could turn messy if they pull out of trying to secure his signature. Newcastle cannot afford to have a player on their books who will not play, either through the manager’s decision or the striker’s own insolence, and shipping him out for the best possible price is crucial to their success this summer.
