Leeds United fans would have been bitterly disappointed by the lack of attacking threat their forward line posed last season – and they could solve that with a game changing bargain from Newcastle United.

The Whites struggled all over the pitch on the way to their 13th placed finish in the Championship, but the Elland Road faithful would have enjoyed their year more had they seen a more exciting brand of football on display.

Both Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom were pragmatic in their approach and their sides were regularly missing the spark needed to jolt the team into life and take the game to their opponents.

Now, that is an issue which can be sorted out.

The Shields Gazzette claim that Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez is willing to let electric winger Rolando Aarons leave this summer, either on loan or on a permanent transfer, and it is a move the Whites should be all over.

The Jamaican born flyer, who stands at 5’8″ (source: Transfermarkt), has struggled at St James’ Park with injuries having left him sidelined for much of the last two seasons, and a spell at Hellas Verona since January did not have the desired effect.

On his day, the attacker is dazzling, with great pace and confidence to take his man on down the wings – it just has not been his day too often recently.

With 18 Premier League appearances under his belt, a change of scenery could be good for him, and at Elland Road he could shine once again.

He would be that X-factor star that the Whites have been missing for some time, and that ability to turn a game on its head, potentially earning a point from a losing position or all three from a draw, would take the club one step closer to securing the success they desire.
