Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is hoping for a reunion with Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe again next season, according to the Express and Star.

The newspaper reports on their website that the centre-back is sought after by the Villa manager after the 20-year-old had a successful loan spell from the Premier League giants in the second half of last season.

It is understood that Bruce is ready to approach the Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho to enquire whether the youngster is available for the  full 2018/2019 campaign, especially after already losing a player in defence after John Terry was released by the club.

Good move for Aston Villa?

Bruce was undoubtedly impressed by the performances of the centre-back whilst he was loan for the second half of last season, and this is why he is so keen to take him back.

Villa already face the prospect of having to raise some cash and listen to offers for their star players, so a loan spell for a talented youngster seems like a good move.

He largely operates as a centre-back, but is also available to play at right-back or defensive midfield if it is necessary.

Likely to happen?

Tuanzebe is undoubtedly not going to make the first team at Manchester United anytime soon, so there is no reason why Mourinho will not let him move if he is not part of his immediate plans.

A loan move is likely considering the monetary problems the club currently have and Tuanzebe will be seeking first-team football like he experienced at Villa Park last season.

A move is likely to happen soon if Mourinho is not stubborn about the next destination of the youngster.
