New Everton manager is plotting a reunion with young Watford striker Ryan Cassidy after his red hot form while with the Hornets, according to the Irish Mirror.

The newspaper claim on their website that the Portuguese manager was impressed with what he saw by the 17-year-old while in the Vicarage Road dugout and wants to take him to Goodison Park after taking charge of the Toffees.

With 25 goals for the youth teams with Watford and regular training with the first team, he was handed his first professional contract back in March and it is said that Silva will have to sanction a hefty offer to prise his former starlet from his old side.

Good move for Everton?

Silva will know exactly how good the young forward having watched him in training week in, week out, and he must be a prodigal talent if the 17-year-old is the new Everton manager’s first target.

The Toffees will likely be looking for new recruits to bolster the first team but taking on a youngster who can develop and grow into a senior star is also a worthwhile swoop.

Still, the Hornets are not going to want to let him go easy, especially not to Silva and Everton after the bad blood between the two sides, and they will likely demand a premium fee to let him head to Goodison Park.

Likely to happen?

If this was any other side, then you would hazard a guess and say that a big enough fee would seal the deal.

However, after Watford accused Everton of tapping up Silva, an issue which is still rumbling on behind the scenes, they may be reluctant to do any sort of deal with the Merseyside club, dashing their hopes of taking Cassidy to the north west.

Football has proven how deep grudges can run, and this looks to be another of those which goes on through the years.
