Richarlison out of reach for Everton as Watford will block transfer attempts

|

Everton boss Marco Silva will have a job on his hands to sign Watford attacker Richarlison, as the Premier League club will block any attempt from the Toffees, according to the Evening Standard.

It has widely been reported that a number of Premier League clubs, including Everton, were keeping tabs on the Brazilian, who Watford value at £40million.

But now it seems that an ongoing feud between the two clubs has piped any chance of Silva getting a reunion with the 21-year-old attacker, as Watford are ruling out any business with the Toffees.

Watford accused Everton of making an illegal approach for Silva last October, and the clubs are still negotiating the compensation settlement.

OPINION

It seems pretty certain that there will be no reunion between Silva and Richarlison, at least during this window anyway. In this market, the £40million valuation is not excessive, as the Brazilian showed signs of brilliance last season for the Hornets. Richarlison represents the kind of player that Everton so desperately needs, but if he is going anywhere this Summer it will not be to Goodison Park. The breakdown in communication between the two clubs has had an apocalyptic effect on any potential transfer business between the two, which ultimately you have to ask if that is a negative thing. Everton would make good use of the player and I’m sure that Watford would love to have in excess of £40million in their bank; although there is no shortage of suitors for the player. Silva will have to look elsewhere for players, although his first priority should be getting rid of some, to balance the wage bill.
