Huddersfield Town defied all expectations in getting promoted to the Premier League in 2016/17, and did so once again by securing another year of top-flight football in their first season in the division.

One of the stars of the show for the Terriers has been Australia international midfielder Aaron Mooy, who has dictated play brilliantly from the centre of the park.

His four goals and four assists in 38 games in 2017/18 have now seen him pop up on the radar of several other Premier League clubs, and a race looks to be on for his signature this summer.

As reported by Australian outlet The World Game, there are five top-flight clubs in the mix for Mooy, with Everton, West Ham, and Southampton the sides who are named.

And the Toffees must blow their rivals out of the water for Mooy, who is rated around £18million by Huddersfield.

The Australian maestro would be the perfect addition to an Everton midfield which has struggled over the past season or so for much consistency.

The only regular performer for the Toffees in that area recently has been Idrissa Gueye, and the club need another player who can slot in alongside and put in good displays week in, week out.

Mooy is that man, with the 27-year-old rarely putting a foot wrong for the Terriers in their debut season in the Premier League, and showing that he is ready for a step up in competition.

His composure on the ball is his best asset, and his ability to contribute both on defence and in attack is a brilliant trait that would instantly improve this Everton side.

And, in today’s market, £18million represents brilliant value for money for a midfielder with both international and Premier League experience in his prime.

It is a no-brainer for the Toffees this summer, and they must blow their rivals out of the water for Mooy in the coming weeks.
