Leeds United fans have been left raving on social media after a journalist revealed that a deal to make Marcelo Bielsa their new manager was done and dusted in a massive move for the club.

British reporter Jason Pettigrove, who is a reputed writer for Marca among other publications and broadcasters, has reported on his personal Twitter account that the Elland Road faithful should start getting excited, with the announcement to confirm the Argentinian coach’s arrival said to be just hours away.

The journalist’s report states that the final hurdle is for Bielsa to be handed his work permit and then an announcement is likely to be made by the Whites, a day before the two week anniversary of Paul Heckingbottom’s sacking.

Bielsa will be the third manager to work under owner Andrea Radrizzani after the Italian had brought in Thomas Christiansen last summer, before sacking and replacing him with former Barnsley boss Heckingbottom in February.

However, while neither of the previous appointments were brought in to much fanfare from supporters, Bielsa’s imminent arrival has got them all worked up on social media for the right reasons, and there is much excitement over what to expect going forward.

Here are a selection of the Leeds faithful’s best responses to the news:
