Any time there is talk of a club in financial crisis, there may be a few sympathetic looks sent their way from the fans at Leeds United – and that could well be the case with Aston Villa now.

The Whites faithful have endured a roller-coaster two decades, hitting major highs before seeing it all come crashing back down to earth and sinking to lows which have seen them seal their place in footballing history all for the wrong reasons.

It appears as though Villa are threatening to follow in their footsteps, and while many Leeds supporters will be glad to see a rival suffer, there will still be a feeling of sympathy for the fate which could belie the Villans.

Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett has stated on his Twitter account that Steve Bruce’s side are facing a financial catastrophe as they hold talks with HMRC over a missed tax payment, which could in turn result in a mass sale in order to raise the necessary funds.

While a crisis is never something anyone wants to see, Leeds must capitalise and try and poach away at least one of the Villa stars for what could well be a bargain price.

There are many names the Whites might be interested in, with a number of areas needing strengthening but considering the likely wage demands, some will be out of reach.

One man who could bring a massive boost to Elland Road would be winger Albert Adomah, with the 30-year-old flyer proving to be something of a goal machine despite being left out wide.

The Ghana international scored 15 goals across all competitions, all but one coming in the Championship, and finished as the club’s top scorer.

With Leeds having struggled up front, a proven goal getter is exactly what the Whites need this summer, even if it is not the centre forward they hope for, and he would be the perfect fit.
