Leeds United fans have all been wishing former assistant coach Benat Labaien good luck after the senior figure confirmed that he would be leaving Elland Road with a heartfelt message on social media.

Having arrived at the club last summer in a change-up of both the playing squad and coaching staff, joining under new manager Thomas Christiansen, the former Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid man lasted longer than both the Danish boss as well as his replacement Paul Heckingbottom, the ex-Barnsley figure axed just over two weeks ago.

However, with Marcelo Bielsa confirmed to be taking the seat in the dugout, Labaien’s time at Elland Road has come to an end, taking to his personal Twitter account to voice his regret at leaving and thanks to both the club as well as Victor Orta for giving him the opportunity to be part of the Whites setup.

Despite having been part of a Leeds squad who were bitterly disappointing during the last campaign, finishing 13th after early season hopes of securing a top six finish, fans were gracious in his exit, thanking him for his work and all were left wishing him good luck for his future endeavours.

Here are a selection of the supporters’ messages to the Spaniard on Twitter:
