Leeds fans are elated after hearing the news that they are being linked with Marcelo Bielsa, who is reportedly being lined up to replace Paul Heckingbottom as the Whites manager.

ESPN have revealed that the Argentian manager, who has been out of work since he left Lille in November 2017, is wanted by the Yorkshire outfit who are looking to push on in the Championship – and the 62-year-old is interested in the post.

The news follows a new partnership that Leeds have drawn up with 49ers Enterprises whose investment in the club is to go directly into improving the first-team.

As it stands, Heckingbottom remains in charge after only taking the position at Elland Road in February following the sacking of Thomas Christiansen.

But it is a move by club owner Andrea Radrizzani which really has not worked out with the side failing to progress under the former Barnsley boss.

The Whites finished the season 13th in the Championship table with one of the worst defensive records in the division.

It is no wonder fans are excited, especially when the former Lille and Lazio manager has been dubbed by both Mauricio Pochettino and Pep Guardiola as “the best coach in the world.”

Here is a selection of responses on social media from supporters reacting to the links with Bielsa:
