Leeds United fans have been left fuming after hero-turned-villain Giuseppe Bellusci delivered his verdict on the Whites’ appointment of Marcelo Bielsa as their new manager.
The Elland Road outfit confirmed that they had brought the Argentinian boss in to replace Paul Heckingbottom, who found himself sacked at the very start of June, on Friday after weeks of negotiations.
With the footballing world applauded Leeds for making such an ambitious and audacious move for one of the most well respected coaches of his generation, Bellusci jumped on the bandwagon, describing his arrival as “a great coach in a great club” on his personal Twitter account.
a great Coach in a great club. marching on together

However, the Leeds faithful were less than happy to see their former star commenting on the goings on at Elland Road, after the controversy which surrounded him up until his exit last summer when he was released from his contract, including reacting to fan criticism with a spreadsheet and being part of a group of players who refused to play.
Instead of joining in congratulating Leeds’ decision to bring Bielsa in, having been sacked from his role at French side Lille back in 2017, the fans were quick to jump on Bellusci’s back for his time at the Whites.
Here are a selection of the supporters’ tweets fuming at the Italian’s message:
