New Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa will be scouting the world for players who can thrive in the style of play that he demands but current attacker Samu Saiz should be made the focal point.

The Argentine’s tactical system and style of play has been well documented, it’s all about keeping the ball and fluidity of movement, with players encouraged to express themselves and press high up the pitch.

There’s no doubt that we’re going to see loads of transfer activity over the next few weeks, with players brought in to fit the system and Bielsa making sure they’re right for his style.

His style also includes a striker who can drop deep and link up with his midfield players, a role that current striker Samu Saiz is perfectly suited to.

The Spanish attacker proved a massive hit for the Yorkshire giants last season, scoring nine goals and putting on eight assists in all competitions for his teammates, this was in a team that really struggled and finished in a disappointing 13th place in the SkyBet Championship.

The 27-year-old is skilled at creating chances for others and can also clinically finish when given the opportunity, making him a prime contender to play that role striker role that’s so important to the new manager’s system.

His ability to drop off into deeper areas and run at the opposition defence will be a great asset next season, so it’s imperative that he’s kept at the club and the side isĀ built around his considerable talents.
