West Ham are reportedly interested in a move for AC Milan winger Fabio Borini – and the club’s supporters on Twitter are furious with the speculation

Italian news outlet Calciomercato reports that the Hammers are keen on landing the 27-year-old this summer, despite the fact he only completed a £5.2million switch to Milan this summer.

It is understood that West Ham and Napoli are both keen on the left-winger, but it would take a sizeable offer to secure a deal for him.

Borini is a 5ft 9 (source: Transermrkt) pocket-sized attacker that has impressed for Milan on loan this term and that earned him a permanent switch to the San Siro.

The one-timed capped Italy international finally ended his stay with Sunderland after struggling to make an impact, while he also has spells at Chelsea, Liverpool and Swansea on his CV.

He is renowned for his brilliant work-rate and versatility, but has struggled in England to provide a serious goal threat and is not blessed with great pace.

Borini has managed just 16 goals in 111 Premier League games so far his career, but new West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is believed to be lining up a deal.

West Ham fans on social media have strongly against the idea of pursuing Borini this summer and feel he would be a failure at the London Stadium.
