Aston Villa fans have been left raging after it was reported that the club’s chiefs are in talks to appoint Andrea Stramaccioni as successor to Steve Bruce.
Although there is yet to be an inkling of Bruce being sacked after Villa lost the Championship play-off final to Fulham on Saturday, Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb has reported that the club has kicked off talks with former Inter Milan manager Stramaccioni.
Stramaccioni is currently out of work after leaving Czech giants Sparta Prague.
Before his job in Prague, the 42-year-old also had spells at Inter Milan, Udinese and Panathinaikos, with very little success.
Aston Villa fans were furious to see their club linked with the manager who has one of the most underwhelming CVs around.
One supporter even claimed that he’s an “Italian Tim Sherwood”.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
This guy is the Italian Tim Sherwood. No thanks. #avfc

I’ve just read his history on Wikipedia and he’s been a complete and utter failure where ever he’s been. Please god don’t appoint this joker #AVFC

There is yet to be any serious rumours that Bruce is going be sacked by Tony Xia, especially with the club now facing uncertainty over the futures of several of their key players.
One of the main players who is being tipped to leave Aston Villa this season to help comply with Financial Fair Play rules is attacker Jack Grealish, who has recently been linked with Manchester United.
