Albert Adomah completed 74 minutes in the defeat to Millwall on Sunday afternoon – and Aston Villa fans on Twitter ripped into him for his performance.
The 30-year-old winger was unable to provide a serious goal threat and his side ended up with a 1-0 away loss against Millwall, with Shaun Williams scoring a first-half winner.
Steve Bruce’s team suffered a setback on the final day of the 46-game league season, but have ended up fourth in the table and must now prepare for the play-offs.
The Midlands giants face Middlesbrough in their two-legged semi-final clash, while Fulham play Derby in the corresponding semi-final game.
Bruce opted to give a few fringe players the chance to stake their claim for the play-offs against Millwall, but a defeat may not have helped any of their causes.
Villa fans on social media singled out Adomah for his efforts and were highly critical of him.
The Ghana international is a pacy wide man with brilliant skill, but his form has dipped considerably in the second half of the season.
He has been in and out of the game in recent weeks, which is why it will be interesting to see if the 15-goal attacker warrants a start.

Adomah picks up the ball in a great place and totally misses or ignores Hogan making a good run. Instead plays it across and Millwall take it.

Another poor performance from Adomah, and Kodjia just can’t find his old form #avfc https://t.co/WB3BpBQZgj

Really hope the likes Hourihane and Adomah don't start in the play off games. #avfc
