Sporting CP goalkeeper Rui Patricio is now more likely to head to Wolves than Napoli, even though it looked as though he was on the verge of joining the Serie A giants in a deal worth up to £20million, according to Diario de Noticias.
The Portuguese newspaper claimed on their website that a deal that would have taken the Portugal international to Napoli was almost wrapped up.
However is a stunning U-turn, it is now understood that Patricio is more likely to head to Molineux and Wolves would be willing to pay the £30million valuation for the goalkeeping ace.
Good move for Wolves?
Patricio would be a brilliant addition at Molineux. He is a clear improvement on John Ruddy and adds a new level of quality to the Wolves rearguard.
The 30-year-old has been ever-present for Sporting CP over the years and this season he kept a stunning 23 clean sheets in 56 appearances across all competitions.
Although it would probably cost a lot of money, Fosun appear prepared to spend big with the report claiming that Wolves are willing to splash a large sum on the shot-stopper that would moreorless double the club’s current record spend of £15.6million on Ruben Neves.

Likely to happen?
There are yet to be any concrete reports in England about Patricio heading to Wolves, but the fact that he has pulled off this major U-turn is a bit of a strange one.
Napoli will be fighting for the Serie A title and will be in the Champions League next season while as it stands, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are in line for a relegation battle.
