Leeds must use some of the money from the cash injection provided by 49ers Enterprises to scoop John Terry this summer.

The centre-back is out of contract at Aston Villa and has been told he can leave the club as the Villans can no longer fund the player’s salary if they are to meet Financial Fair Play regulations, according to the Daily Mail.

While prior to United’s partnership with the 49ers, the Whites would have been unable to afford Terry, they most likely can offer the former Chelsea and England captain a last-chance saloon and return the Whites to the Premier League, in what would be an unbelievable swansong.

Leeds struggled defensively in 2017/18 – injuries to key players and a lack of consistency at the back led to them gaining one of the worst goals conceded records in the top two-thirds of the Championship table.

At 37, Terry lacks the pace to keep up with the rigours of the game at the highest level, but what he lacks in speed he makes up with in experience, positioning, and above all, his ability to inspire all around him.

Having seen the effect he had on his teammates at Villa, guiding an average team to the brink of the Premier League and only missing out at the death, the 6ft 1in (Source: Transfermarkt) colossus can inspire Leeds to a similar fate and can be someone the youngsters in the side can look to when the going gets tough.
