Dundee manager Neil McCann has admitted there is interest in midfielder Glen Kamara with Rangers and Celtic both reported in The Scottish Sun to be in the hunt for the 22-year-old.

The former Arsenal youngster only arrived at Dens Park last summer from the Gunners but his displays have caught the eye of the two giants of the Scottish Premiership.

As quoted in the Scottish Sun, the former Scotland international revealed that the club are already in talks with the Finland international but if an offer came in that was right for the Dark Blues, they would be tempted into selling: “Glen hasn’t gone under the radar so we’re not ignorant to the fact he will attract attention.

“So I am not in a position to say he won’t go because if a big bid comes in for him the club can use that to make itself better.

“But I don’t want Glen to go anywhere and he won’t be going anywhere unless it’s right for this club.

“It will need to be some serious cash.

“Glen won’t walk out of Dens Park unless this club gets a very big deal.”

OPINION

If Rangers and Celtic are both serious about Kamara then this summer will be very interesting to see which team he opts to go for, or which side battles hardest to snap him up. While Dundee finished the league in a lowly ninth position, Kamara has been in exceptional form for them and you would have to wonder where the Dark Blues would be without the player. McCann believes the 22-year-old would command a handsome fee but he is out of contract next summer so that means the club would likely be looking to sell now to avoid losing him on a free transfer. Talks may have begun between Kamara and Dundee but there will be few who can see how they can keep hold of him, let alone expect him to sign a new contract. Despite only joining a little under a year ago, the likelihood is he will be off this summer. The only question that remains is will it be Celtic or will it be Rangers?
