Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell is set for talks with Paris Saint-Germain counterpart Nasser Al-Khelaifi over a permanent deal for striker Odsonne Edouard, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper report that Lawwell is set to lead the Celtic delegation in talks with the French giants after manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed that the Hoops would seek a summer agreement for the 20-year-old.

As quoted by the Record, Rodgers said: “It’s up to the clubs. The club will meet with PSG and say where we can take it. Odsonne is a top talent. If you look at him, we brought him in for a reason. He’s developed and grown over the season. This is a wonderful place to continue that education.”

It is said that Edouard himself has stated he would like to remain at Celtic permanently, with the club’s money men now set to try and thrash out a deal in upcoming talks.

PSG have already been confirmed as Ligue 1 champions this year, but crashed out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage to finalists Real Madrid.
