Middlesbrough are said to be willing to listen offers for their right-sided wing-wizard Adama Traore this summer as they failed to make it back into the Premier League and with Newcastle United said to be sniffing around, according to the Yorkshire Post, we believe Celtic would must also join the hunt to sign him.

The 22-year-old who is blessed with rip-roaring pace would be a certain upgrade on the very average James Forest after terrorising the Championships defences this term.

In years gone by when Traore has failed to find an end product to his game, that has been rectified to some extent this term, where he has registered five goals and ten assists to show he means business.

And when you compare that to Forrest’s seven goals and six assists in a much-less competitive league it is clear the effect the speedy winger could have up at Parkhead.

The Hoops finished 12 points above their Glasgow city rivals Rangers in the Scottish Premiership and while it might be true that the Light Blues are improving their squad, with Traore in the ranks, Brendan Rodgers’ men would not only match that point gap tally, they would increase it all the more.

Boro’s winger is under contract at the Riverside until 2020 but Celtic must do all they can to ensure the Spain U21 international is theirs.
