West Ham are ready to offload a quartet of senior players in the summer transfer window, according to the Times.

The newspaper claims on their website that the Hammers willing to cash in on Sam Byram, Jordan Hugill, Andy Carroll and Edimilson Fernandes in a bid to boost Manuel Pellegrini’s transfer budget for the summer window.

Carroll cost West Ham £15million when they signed him from Liverpool in 2013 while Hugill was snapped up from Preston in January for £10million.

It is understood that James Collins has already been told that he will be leaving the London Stadium while Pellegrini will attempt to convince Javier Hernandez that he still has a future at the club.

OPINION

West Ham are bound to undergo some big changes in the summer transfer window. Pellegrini has now officially been confirmed as the manager so the owners have done well to replace David Moyes within a week with someone who has as much experience as the ex-Manchester City boss. It now seems that the club is set for a major exodus in the coming weeks and months as they aim to rebuild the squad. You cannot blame the club for wanting to get rid of these players though as most of them are well below the required level or have constant struggles with fitness and injuries. Carroll will be the one to grab the most headlines should he leave this summer. There will more than likely be a queue of clubs looking to sign the former Newcastle and Liverpool target man, but the Hammers will be lucky to get a decent fee for someone who has been so injury-prone in the last few years.
