West Ham fans are by and large thrilled to hear about reports linking them with a move for Fulham right-back Ryan Fredericks.
A club insider, ExWHUemployee, has revealed on Twitter that he would be “surprised” if the Hammers did not snap up the right-sided flyer who is available for nothing with his contract set to expire at the end of June, while a report in the Daily Mail suggests that a transfer is imminent.
I would be surprised if we don’t sign Fredericks now https://t.co/TK4OESKTPs

The 25-year-old has been an integral part of a Fulham side which bagged promotion to the Premier League last weekend and with nine assists to his name for the Cottagers, he is a right-back with plenty of end product.
It is no surprise then to see that reactions from fans are positive.
One fan demanded that the club, “Make it happen,” while another depicted an image of an excited looking Spongebob Squarepants.
The Hammers, according to the Chronicle Live, face competition for the full-back from Newcastle who are also thought to be keen on the player but West Ham are the front-runners.
With Pablo Zabaleta coming to the end of his career and Sam Byram hampered with injuries, the Irons are in need of a quality acquisition in the full-back spot, and Fredericks would fit the mould.
Here is a selection of reactions from West Ham fans on social media reacting to Fredericks’ potential arrival:
He's decided not to renew his contract, very exciting player!

Be a great signing but I think if not being biased he should give Fulham the season but I be happy if he joins

It all sounds great but been here before. Will not believe any of it until they get paraded out in a West Ham shirt at a press conference
