Tottenham Hotspur have declared their interest in Manchester United winger Anthony Martial, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim that Spurs are ready and willing to pay £44million to secure the 22-year-old France international, who looks likely to leave Old Trafford this summer.

The Mail report that Martial is not happy with his lack of game time under Jose Mourinho and is seeking a move to continue his development elsewhere.

It is said that Martial currently earns £65,000-a-week at United, meaning his wage packet would fit quite easily into the strict structure in place at Tottenham.

Chelsea and Juventus are the other clubs reportedly in the hunt for the speed demon.

Good move for Tottenham Hotspur?

Absolutely.

Martial has showed his quality on countless occasions for United, and would be an exciting addition to the Tottenham squad.

The winger has electric pace, a neat touch, and has shown an ever-improving finishing ability that makes him a danger to any opposition.

There is also no doubt that the forward would improve massively under the watchful eye of Mauricio Pochettino, who is well-known for his brilliant work with young players.

Likely to happen?

The competition for Martial will be fierce, with Chelsea and Juve also keen.

Out of the three clubs credited with interest, you would think that the Serie A giants are in the best position with United surely unwilling to strengthen direct Premier League rivals.

However, it is also known that United hold an interest in Tottenham defender Danny Rose, and that raises the potential for a swap deal between the two clubs.
