Leeds United have officially announced an investment partnership that will see 49ers Enterprises become a minority shareholder in the Whites boardroom alongside current owner Andrea Radrizzani.

And fans have been blow away about what this could mean for their club in terms of direction.

49ers Enterprises are an investment body who are connected to global superpower sporting giant, the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers.

The news was officially confirmed via the club’s Twitter feed and website:

With a trip to Myanmar now done and dusted and a thing of the past, it would seem that Radrizzani is keen on turning United into a global name following the confirmation of this partnership.

As a result of the deal, 49ers Enterprises president Paraag Marathe will be on the Leeds United board of directors.

The finances that come in from the minority shareholder will support investment into the first-team as the club looks to fulfill its goal of making it back into the Premier League.

And after being linked with a move for Abel Hernandez from Hull City, it would appear that the Whites will have the muscle now to battle with some of the bigger teams should they continue their pursuit of the hitman based on the Yorkshire outfit’s big revelation on Friday.

Fans are largely thrilled to hear the update from the club and here is a selection of Twitter reactions from them responding to the latest official announcement:
