Everton need a new wave of players to arrive over the summer transfer window if they are to kick on next season.

The Toffees have endured a disappointing campaign and are on course for a mid-table finish in the Premier League, despite many people tipping them to be battling for the European positions.

They certainly need to strengthen a few key areas of the pitch, including some extra pace and attacking threat in wide areas.

Sam Allardyce’s squad currently has the likes of Nikola Vlasic, Theo Walcott and Yannick Bolasie as first-team options on the wing, but could do with more reinforcements.

Everton should consider joining the reported hunt for Leicester City speedster Demarai Gray, who be an extremely exciting addition at Goodison Park.

News outlet ESPN reports that Tottenham are considering a move for the 21-year-old and that the player is set to weigh up his future due to a lack of game time at the King Power Stadium.

Everton should go all out to try land the England Under-21 international, who under the right tutelage has some potential to fulfil.

Gray usually operates as a left-winger and has shown during his time with Leicester that he gets fans off their seats.

The youngster has electric speed and insane technical ability, while he has also been directly involved in seven goals for the Foxes this campaign.

He would definitely get a fair crack in the Everton starting XI based on this season and the club should invest in this brilliant talent.

Gray’s decision making and final pass will improve as he develops, but he has the foundations to be a top player and would the sort of positive signing the Toffees supporters need.
