James Tavernier completed 90 minutes in the crushing defeat to Celtic on Sunday – and Rangers fans on Twitter annihilated him for his performance.

The Gers suffered a humiliating 5-0 away loss at Parkhead, which handed Brendan Rodgers’ side the league title for a seventh consecutive year.

Graeme Murty’s team were blown away by their opponents and found themselves three nil down by half-time.

Odsonne Edouard netted a first-half brace as he lead the line for Celtic, while James Forrest netted a third on the stroke of half-time.

Tom Rogic and Callum McGregor then got on the scoresheet in the second period to add some gloss to the scoreline, but it could have been more if not for some eye-catching saves from goalkeeper Jak Alnwick.

Rangers supporters on social media decided to single out their captain for his individual display and claimed that defensively he was all over the place.

The right-back was terrorised by Celtic pair Kieran Tierney and McGregor on the wing, who both had the beating of him one-on-one.

His side slipped to yet another heavy defeat at the hands of their Old Firm rivals and have conceded nine goals in their last two matches against them.
