Rangers are in the hunt to sign Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claims that the Gers are in the race alongside Old Firm rivals Celtic to sign the 22-year-old from Scottish Premiership rivals Dundee.

It is understood that Premier League outfit Swansea have also joined the pursuit for him following his impressive impact in Scotland since leaving Arsenal on a permanent basis.

The report details that Rangers scouted him in their recent 4-0 win over Dundee, where he still managed to stand out and he is viewed as one of the best midfielder in the Scottish to flight.

The Sun’s report states that Kamara could be available for a cut-price £1million deal in the summer, as he will have just one year remaining on his contract.

Dundee are hoping they can spark a bidding war for the Finland international due to the high wages that elite clubs are set to offer.

Good move for Rangers?

Rangers definitely need some reinforcements to their squad in the summer and adding some further depth to their midfield should be a necessity.

Kamara would definitely be a brilliant option to add to Graeme Murty’s current side and at the age of 22 would only improve if he moved to Ibrox.

The defensive midfielder has an excellent work-rate and a physicality that could bolster the Gers in the middle of the park.

He has been a top performer for ninth-placed Dundee this campaign and looks ready to make the step up.

Likely to happen?

Rangers are certainly in the mix for Kamara and his future appears to lie away from Dundee after some rave reviews.

However, there is a high possibility they could be blown away by either Swansea or Celtic when trying to secure a deal for him.
