The Norwich City defender started out well at Ibrox after joining on loan in January, but his flaws have come to the fore in recent weeks. Mistake after mistake has been made by the 32-year-old, none more damaging than his botched clearance against Celtic on Sunday that led to Callum McGregor’s goal. It is now clear that the club must cut their losses this summer and let Martin return to Norwich with no offer of a permanent deal on the table. Rangers need defensive reinforcements, but must aim higher than Martin, who is well past his best.
