West Ham are interested in signing Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli, according to The Sun.

The newspaper claim that the Hammers are interested in signing the 6ft 3in keeper after manager David Moyes watched him play against Leeds United on Tuesday.

The Sun report that the Hammers need to sign a goalkeeper in the upcoming summer window as Joe Hart is set to return to Manchester City and Adrian is out of favour.

Bettinelli, along with keeping a clean sheet in the 2-0 victory over Leeds on Tuesday, has kept nine clean sheets in the 21 appearances he has made for Fulham this season.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper’s consistent performances have helped the Cottagers sit third in the Championship.

This means Slavisa Jokanovic’s side still have a chance of winning automatic promotion to the Premier League this campaign.

It is believed that Moyes could tempt Bettinelli to the London Stadium with top-flight football if Fulham fail to get promoted this season.

Good move for West Ham?

Very much so.

The position of goalkeeper has caused problems for the Hammers this season, with neither Hart or Adrian looking good enough to regularly play between the sticks for Moyes’ side.

Bettinelli has proved himself to be one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship and looks more than capable of making the step up to England’s top-flight.

Also with the 6ft 3in keeper still only being 25-years-old, he is only destined to get better.

Likely to happen?

All depends on Fulham and if they get up to the Premier League.

The Sun’s report claims that the Cottagers don’t have to sell players from a financial perspective, but a lot of players will no doubt want to leave in order to be in England’s top-flight.

Bettinelli could easily make the London Stadium his home, as he would get first-team opportunities at the club.
