Newcastle United all but secured their Premier League safety with a stirring 2-1 comeback win over Arsenal at St. James’ Park on Sunday, and there were plenty of talking points to take from the game.

Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring for the Gunners after just 14 minutes when he stole in at the back post to volley home Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s cross.

Ayoze Perez however hit back for the Magpies on the half-hour mark as he polished .off a flowing move down the right with a neat finish at the near post to score his third in three games.

Newcastle then pressed for a winner in the second-half with Arsenal looking ragged and they were rewarded on 68 minutes when Matt Ritchie found himself in space in the box and finished past Petr Cech first time.
