When Liverpool splashed out £34.3million to sign Mohamed Salah from Roma last summer, many questioned whether the Egyptian could succeed in England after his failed spell at Chelsea a few years earlier.

Now, with the end of the 2017/18 season upon us, there can be no doubting Salah’s quality as the wing wizard has defied expectations to net 43 goals and lead Liverpool to the verge of the Champions League final.

His form for the Reds has made his £34.3million price tag look an absolute bargain, with the speed demon now worth around quadruple that amount on the market.

Liverpool’s move for the 25-year-old at the beginning of the season is now quite clearly the deal of last summer, with no other new signing making anywhere close to the same impact this term.

And, with this summer rolling round quickly as the Premier League season comes to an end, Liverpool are reportedly about the secure the deal of this summer as well.

As reported by The Sun, Reds chiefs are ready to open talks with Salah over new deal for the goal machine as they look to secure his future at Anfield.

The newspaper report that La Liga giants Real Madrid are showing interest in the winger, and Liverpool are keen to avoid losing another big player after the departures of Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

The Sun claim that Salah’s current £90,000-a-week deal does not put him amongst the top earners at the club, with bosses now ready to table a new contract worth £185,000-a-week.

It is said that the club are hoping to tie up the deal before the World Cup, where Salah’s value may increase even more with a good showing.

Make no mistake about it, regardless of who signs who this summer, this will be the best deal possible for any Premier League team in the upcoming window.

Securing Salah’s future is absolutely key to Liverpool’s future, with the club on the brink of something special if they manage to keep him.
