Arsenal fans took to social media to slam Petr Cech for his performance against Newcastle United on Sunday.
The Gunners lost 2-1 to the Magpies during their meeting at St James’ Park, and supporters knew who they blamed for their side’s failure to win the game.
Arsene Wenger’s side originally took the lead in the match through Alexandre Lacazette in the 14th minute, but Rafa Benitez’s side got back on level terms just 15 minutes later.
Ayoze Perez scored the Magpies’ equaliser as his effort crept inside the near post, with Cech unable to keep it out.
One Gunners fan tweeted sarcastically that Perez’s goal was the 752nd time Cech had been beaten at his near post.
That was one of the nicer comments, as several fans stated that the 35-year-old goalkeeper had never been good enough for the club.
One suggested that he was the worst signing of the Emirates era, while another claimed that Wenger should be sacked for playing him.
Gunners fans no doubt would have been even more frustrated to see Cech concede again in the 68th minute, as Matt Ritchie scored to make it 2-1 to the Magpies.
Cech arrived at the Emirates in 2015 from Chelsea and has since made 114 appearances for the Gunners.
The veteran goalkeeper is contracted to stay with the club until 2019.
This Is Futbol has rounded up some of the best tweets about Cech’s performance against the Magpies:
Petr Cech worst signing of the Emirates era? We paid £10M for Chelsea's finished backup keeper who has cost us more points than won us points

I don't what some of these players show Wenger during training, man must be partially blind for a while now. Awful people like Mustafi, Cech and co. Awful during most games. Can't do basics!!

Cech been awful since we signed him. There was a reason he was on the bench for 2 seasons & then a rival sold him to us.

Cech’s distribution of the ball is so poor as well. Nowhere near the level of Ederson and Allison.

Wenger’s blind faith in Iwobi and his decision to sell szczesny when we have cech and Ospina is a sackable offence
