Aston Villa Jack Grealish’s comments about his future are able to inspire supporters and build up their hopes unlike Steve Bruce’s latest claim which plays down success.

The 22-year-old midfielder was asked about his Villans future at the club’s end of season awards and while he stated that he was only hoping for his side to win promotion this season, he worded his statement in such a way that fans will be excited.

“I’ve come back and I’m doing quite well at the moment,” said Grealish at his side’s award night, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.

“I’ve got the perfect manager, the perfect staff and the perfect team to play with, hopefully we can get promoted.”

Grealish opted to heap praise on the club he has spent his whole career at, and made it sound like everything was going fine, despite the Villans facing the daunting prospect of the Championship play-offs.

Steve Bruce’s side currently sit fourth in the league, significantly behind Cardiff and Fulham to the point where it looks like winning the play-offs is their only hope of getting up.

While the play-offs are a glorified lottery, Villans fans know that there is enough quality in their squad to fire them back to the Premier League.

However despite this being the case, Bruce’s comments about his side’s future and chances are going up were more likely to see fans become resigned to the fact that they will spend next year in England’s second tier.

“I can’t see a miracle, but you never know,” Bruce as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.

“When you are at the end of the season and there is something to play for, that’s a good position to be in.

“There’s still a chance so we will keep fighting, if we can’t go up automatically then the play-offs are a great drama to be involved in.

“We think we are in the play-offs, but we can’t give up hope.”

The Villans manager may urge supporters not to give up the ghost when it comes to getting automatically promoted this season, but he does it in such a manner that no one is going to be left inspired.

Therefore while Grealish may only be 22-years-old, the midfielder has successfully given Villans fans inspiration which Bruce apparently seems incapable of doing.
