McManus delivers Rogic Twitter verdict

|

BBC pundit Tam McManus has delivered a gushing Twitter verdict on Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic during the first-half of their Premiership clash with Motherwell.

The Hoops travelled to Fir Park looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premiership to 12 points after Rangers fell to a 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Saturday.

Both sides came close in a goalless first 45 minutes, with Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain being forced into a couple of decent saves as seventh-placed Motherwell pushed for an early lead.

Well were however dealt a big blow on 41 minutes as Cedric Kipre saw red after kicking out at Scott Brown during an altercation following a tackle.

Brendan Rodgers’ side looked rather sluggish going forward at times, but Australia international Rogic was at the heart of everything good up front for the Hoops.

BBC pundit McManus has now delivered his instant Twitter verdict to Rogic’s first-half display:

OPINION

It is hard to argue with McManus’ instant verdict here. Rogic has consistently shown his dribbling skill during his years at Celtic, and when he is on form he is almost unstoppable for the Hoops. There were several times in the first-half where Rogic showed his quick feet, and he will be key to Celtic as they enter the final part of the season. His future at the club is however uncertain after reports of a contract stand-off, but fans will hope that is resolved soon and Rogic stays at Parkhead for years to come.
