Newcastle United will try and turn Kenedy’s loan move at St James’ Park into a permanent one in the summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper claims that the Magpies want to sign the left-winger at the end of the season when he is due to return to Chelsea.

It is understood that Rafael Benitez’s side will have to pay up to £15million for the dazzling attacker to seal a permanent exit away from Stamford Bridge.

The report details that the 22-year-old is open to the possibility of staying with Newcastle if they remain in the Premier League.

Kenedy has helped Newcastle move five points away from the relegation places of the league since he arrived in January, with Benitez quickly making him an ever-present in the starting XI.

Good move for Newcastle?

Newcastle fans have quickly taken to tricky wide man Kenedy and signing him up for next season would be a good deal.

He has brilliant pace, power and skill that is seeing him terrorise Premier League defences now that is is starting to get regular game time.

His £15million price tag is a large sum for Newcastle to fork out, but the club need to start showing ambition and at 22 he has room to get even better.

Likely to happen?

Newcastle’s recent history suggests they are unlikely to splash out £15million on one player unless they have full faith in him and for now a Chelsea return seems most likely for Kenedy.

However, the player is definitely enjoying life in his new surroundings and you couldn’t rule this deal out altogether.
