West Ham fans on social media were unhappy after hearing that Winston Reid and Sam Byram were likely to miss the rest of the season.
Sky Sports first broke the news that Reid was set to be out for the season as the knee injury he sustained during the 4-1 defeat to Swansea City on Saturday, would keep him out for the rest of the campaign.
The London Evening Standard then reported that Reid wasn’t alone in missing the rest of the season, as Sam Byram was expected to also miss the games that remained due to an ankle injury.
Reid has managed to make 20 appearances for the Hammers this season, while Byram has only appeared in 10 games during this campaign.
Both defenders ahead of these latest injuries had previously spent time on the sidelines this season, which had limited their appearances.
Despite having to cope without the pair before, Hammers supporters were concerned about how their side would be able to manage without them until end of the season.
Some reacted in anger, while others were simply disappointed.
One Hammers fan tweeted that it wasn’t normal for a club to have this many injury problems, while another supporter shared that they thought that the season wasn’t going to end well given the latest set-back.
