Chris Kamara has shared that West Ham supporters knew their actions during the Burnley game would look bad but they just wanted answers about their club.

The Sky Sports pundit who was at the game, revealed that he didn’t feel threatened by the actions of some Hammers fans and defended their reasons for protesting.

“Fans said to me this is going to look really bad tomorrow, but all they want are answers,” said Kamara on Sky Sports, as quoted by the broadcaster’s official website (Sunday, 9:26).

“They spent virtually no money in the transfer window.

Why was David Moyes not given any money in January?

The fans have told me in a poll that 95 per cent of fans didn’t want to leave the Boleyn Ground.

“They said the pitch would be closer to the stands, and it’s not.

“They just want answers, there were protests yesterday but it wasn’t threatening for me, and it was aimed solely at the directors.”

The Hammers lost 3-0 to Burnley on Saturday at the London Stadium and the game was interrupted by several pitch invaders.

A large group of fans also chanted loudly at the directors’ box in order to share their unhappiness about the running of the club.

OPINION

West Ham supporters were always going to get some criticism for their actions on Saturday but it’s well worth noting they have a right to be upset about the running of their club. This season was meant to be the start of the Hammers’ bright future, with the team moving to the impressive London Stadium. However while their new ground is visually impressive, it has several noticeable flaws that cause it from being a great place to watch football. Fans would have mumbled about these problems, if the action on the pitch had at least been good. However, the Hammers have been woeful this season and could find themselves relegated come the end of the campaign.
