Karren Brady has revealed that she has no plans to walk away from West Ham despite fans recently protesting the club’s current direction.

The Hammers vice-chairman was reluctant to talk about the club during an interview with the Guardian, but went on to state that she wasn’t set to step-down from her role on the board anytime soon.

“I’ve never walked away from anything I’ve done, and I’m not going to start now,” said Brady, as quoted by the Guardian.

“I genuinely believe the move we made to the stadium is the right one.

“That’s why we had 52,000 season ticket holders, and why 90% of those renewed.”

Hammers fans visibly protested during the 3-0 defeat to Burnley at the London Stadium on March 10, with a lot of their anger directed towards the club’s current board.

David Moyes’ side are next in action against Southampton on March 31 and go into the game only two points above the relegation zone.

OPINION

Hammers supporters won’t like to hear Brady committing herself to the club, nor will they appreciate her dismissing their anger. The current vice-chairman was clearly trying to dismiss that there was any issue worth discussing with the Hammers, by stating that 90% of season tickets had been renewed. With the team facing the real threat of relegation from the Premier League this season, it’s easy to understand why supporters are upset. It’s even easier to see why supporters are blaming the board for their club’s failure, as several problems have come courtesy of their decisions. The decision to move to the London Stadium in particular hasn’t worked out as of yet, and it seems to have been a game changing factor for the club.
