Arsenal fans on social media were furious after reading a report that claimed that Thomas Tuchel was set to be Arsene Wenger’s replacement.
Kicker reported on Sunday that Bayern Munich had been trying to get Tuchel to agree to be their next manager, but that the German have informed the Bundesliga giants that he had already agreed and signed a deal to manage another club.
The German publication claimed that the club in question was the Gunners, and that Tuchel was set to take over from Wenger in the summer.
It is believed that Tuchel is fine with the prospect of working with Sven Mislintat at the Emirates, despite having problems with the scout during his time at Borussia Dortmund.
Mislintat is currently the chief scout at the Gunners, having joined the club in 2017 after leaving Borussia Dortmund.
Tuchel’s last job in management was at Borussia Dortmund, with the 44-year-old opting to leave the club in May 2017, despite winning the German Cup in his last season with them.
Several Arsenal fans took to Twitter to moan about the club’s apparent decision to replace Wenger with Tuchel, with many supporters claiming that their current manager was better.
One fan tweeted that Tuchel wasn’t a good enough replacement and backed Wenger to keep his job.
