Tottenham must hit Liverpool where it hurts by swooping in the summer for their promising centre-forward Rhian Brewster.

The Reds are reportedly stepping up talks with Brewster over his first professional contract, as his scholarship deal is set to end this summer.

As reported by The Sun, Liverpool are desperate not to lose the forward, with the club showing signs that he may be given first-team opportunities next season.

The newspaper’s report shares that Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are all interested in him, but his decision will come down to who is most likely to give him a chance at regular first-team football.

Mauricio Pochettino could clearly guarantee the pacey centre-forward chances in Spurs’ first-team as he would be the perfect cover for Harry Kane.

The Spurs manager has previously shown his ability to utilise youth in his teams and would not shy away from giving the teenage speed demon vital minutes at senior level.

Brewster has already demonstrated his clinical finishing in his young career at youth level as he has scored five goals in 11 outings in the Premier League 2 this season.

The 17-year-old’s skills were also seen at the Under-17s World Cup last summer as the forward netted eight times across the tournament to help England lift the trophy and earn himself the Golden Boot.

With Pochettino’s guidance the teenager could transfer his form from youth level to senior level in the blink of an eye and help Spurs win honours next season.

Spurs are clearly in need of signing another talented forward to go alongside Kane as the 24-year-old can’t be expected to fire his side to success across all competitions.

Therefore Daniel Levy should lure Brewster to Spurs with the promise of first-team opportunities and really stick it to Liverpool as the Reds will be hurt over carelessly losing such a talented youngster.
