Tottenham are leading the race to sign Toulouse’s Issa Diop, according to talkSPORT.
The official website of the radio station claim that the 21-year-old centre-back would be available to purchase for around £30million.
talkSPORT report that there is growing belief that Toby Alderweireld is going to leave Spurs in the summer and that Mauricio Pochettino will want to replace the 28-year-old, with Diop potentially being Alderweireld’s replacement.
Mundo Deportivo previously reported that Mauricio Pochettino had given his approval of Toulouse defender Issa Diop after the club’s scouts watched the Ligue 1 sensation.
The Spanish news outlet also claimed that Arsenal, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Barcelona were interested in signing the 21-year-old.
Good move for Spurs?
Yes.
Diop has impressed in the 28 appearances he has made across all competitions this season, and would fit right into Spurs’ defence.
The 21-year-old is comfortable on the ball and looks capable of being a key player at Spurs, if they choose to sign him.
Pochettino will no doubt want to ensure he gets a player worthy of replacing Alderweireld, if he leaves, and Diop has the potential to be just as good as the 28-year-old.

Likely to happen?
No.
talkSPORT’s suggestion that Diop would be available for £30million makes the report questionable.
While that is a lot of money, when you consider how crazy the transfer market is and the fact the 21-year-old is Toulouse’s captain, the French club could easily demand more than £30million for him.
That’s if they even decide to sell.
