Michael Owen has predicted Tottenham to win when they host Juventus on Wednesday night and advance to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Spurs welcome the Italian giants to Wembley for the European tie and the teams are locked together at 2-2 after the first leg.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side know a win will see them progress to the next round of the competition and also have the leverage of two away goals under their belt.

The Premier league side surrendered a two-goal lead in the opening 10 minutes away to the Series A club in the first leg, with Gonzalo Higuain striking a quick-fire brace.

However, they showed tremendous fight with goals from Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen to give them a slight advantage ahead of the second leg.

Owen has tipped Spurs to pick up a historic win over Juventus at Wembley and continue their unbeaten run in the competition this campaign.

“Spurs are one of only three teams unbeaten in the Champions League so far this season – alongside Liverpool and Barcelona – but they have only kept one clean sheet in their six Champions League games at Wembley and I expect a tight, tense encounter against the Old Lady of Italian Football,” Owen wrote in his column for Bet Victor.

“Juve have kept a clean sheet in their last three away games in the knockout stages of the competition, but if Spurs score then the Italians need two to progress and I feel the Premier League side will gain a famous Wembley win.”

OPINION

Spurs proved in the first leg against Juventus that they do have the quality to reach the quarter-finals, but they will have to turn in another performance at that level to progress. Pochettino’s side must take great confidence from their recent form and look to dominate possession on Wednesday night. They have every chance of nicking a goal with prolific centre-forward Harry Kane at the point of the attack, while the likes of Christian Eriksen, Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli play the supporting role. Spurs must ensure that they stay defensively solid and that will mean goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will have to be at his best.
