Harry Redknapp has revealed that he would love to see Celtic’s Scott Sinclair in the English Premier League next season.

The BT Sports pundit shared that he would be surprised if the Hoops opted to sell the 29-year-old midfielder, but added that it would be a great move for Bournemouth if they won his signature.

“I think Scott Sinclair has done brilliantly at Celtic, he’s an exciting player, can score goals, can create goals,” said Redknapp as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

“I don’t know if Celtic want to sell him — but there’s no doubt he’d be a big asset for Bournemouth if Eddie Howe was looking to bring him in.

“Sinclair’s come of age since he went to play for Brendan Rodgers at Celtic, his game’s improved and he’s revived his career in Scotland.

“I’d be surprised if Celtic were to sell him, but if they do, and Bournemouth were to go for him, it could be a great move. I’d love to see him playing down here.”

Sinclair has scored 42 goals in 95 appearances for the Hoops since arriving at Parkhead from Aston Villa in 2016.

The 29-year-old is looking to leave to Brendan Rodgers’ side in the summer and return to the Premier League, according to the Scottish Sun.

The Daily Mail previously reported that Premier League duo Brighton and Bournemouth were keeping tabs on the midfielder’s situation at Parkhead, ahead of potentially making a move for him in the summer.

Under Eddie Howes’ guidance, Bournemouth currently sit 10th in the Premier League after 31 games played.

Sinclair joined the Hoops from Aston Villa in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by the Scottish Sun to be worth £3.5 million.

OPINION

It’s interesting to hear that Redknapp believes that Sinclair would be a great signing for Bournemouth, as more often than not, pundits doubt players excelling in Scotland. Pundits always tend to question the level and quality of Scottish football, which leads to them doubting whether players from the league could excel in the English Premier League. However even though Sinclair struggled in England’s top-flight before, scoring only 13 goals in 119 Premier League appearances, Redknapp appears confident about the midfielder’s ability. It will be interesting to see whether the Hoops opt to sell Sinclair in the summer, as Redknapp doubts a move by revealing that he’d be surprised, but the star’s reported desire to leave could force them to ditch him.
