There is no questioning the fact that Brazilian flyer Kenedy has been the star of Newcastle’s season since joining the club on loan in January.

The 22-year-old has made an instant impact on Tyneside and is now a firm fan favourite at St. James’ Park, with his all-action displays down the left providing some much-needed impetus to Newcastle’s season.

His two goals against Southampton last time out set the Magpies on their way to a crucial victory against relegation rivals, one that saw them rise to 13th and reaffirmed Kenedy’s importance to this side.

The young Brazilian has now spoken out about his future at the club with his loan deal from Chelsea set to end in the summer, and his words will be music to the ears of the Toon Army.

Speaking to UOL Esporte, Kenedy said: “This new phase at Newcastle makes me very happy. It’s very difficult for a player to stay out of action for a long time, especially to get back into the Premier League.

“If it’s good for everyone, it would be a pleasure to continue wearing the shirt of this great team.”

It is clear to see that Kenedy is loving his time at Newcastle, and his comments kick the door wide open for the club to make a swoop to sign him permanently this summer.

Managing director Lee Charnley and the club hierarchy would be foolish to miss such an opportunity, with the 22-year-old already proving that he has what it takes to succeed on Tyneside.

Newcastle will need players next season who are proven performers at a high level as they look to push up the table, and Kenedy is definitely one man they can rely upon.

An added bonus is his young age, with Kenedy having so much time to continue to develop his game under the tutelage of Benitez at the club.

With the Brazilian out of the first-team picture at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea should be willing to sell the flyer on for the right price, and Newcastle must take this golden opportunity to strengthen permanently this summer.
