Liverpool fans may have celebrated cruising to a 5-0 victory against Watford on Saturday but they were unhappy with Georginio Wijnaldum’s part in the win.

Reds supporters took to social media to slam the 27-year-old midfielder for his performance during Saturday’s game at Anfield.

One fan tweeted that if he continued to play like that then he would be a Watford player next season, before suggesting that Wijnaldum was their side’s only weak link.

Another supporter revealed that they thought the 27-year-old offered zero outpoint and there were quite a few other fans admitting that they felt the same.

Wijnaldum is a regular in Jurgen Klopp’s side, having made 37 appearances across all competitions this season.

However the German manager may have agreed with Reds fans on Saturday as he opted to substitute the Dutch midfielder in the 70th minute of the game.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain took Wijnaldum’s place in the heart of the Reds’ midfield for the time that remained.

Wijnaldum has been at the Reds since 2016 after joining from Newcastle United, and is contracted to stay at the club until 2021.

With the Reds achieving a comfortable victory against the Watford, they now sit third in the table.
