Atletico Madrid could sign Everton’s Jordan Pickford as manager Diego Simeone rates the 24-year-old goalkeeper, according to Don Balon.
The Spanish football outlet claim that Simeone is keen for the club to sign another goalkeeper if current first-choice Jan Oblak joins Paris-St Germain in the summer.
Don Balon report that the Atletico Madrid manager is very fond of Pickford as he believes that he would be great competition for current second-choice keeper Axel Werner at the club.
It is believed that Pickford could be signed by the Spanish giants, who currently sit second in La Liga, for a fee in the region of £39.2million.
Good move for Everton?
No.
After joining the Toffees from Sunderland in the summer, Pickford has cemented himself as a key player at the club by impressing in the 39 appearances he has made this season.
The club could make a £9million profit within one season, if Don Balon’s reported fee is right, as the Toffees paid Sunderland £30million, as reported by Sky Sports, to sign him in the summer.
However it’s still not worth selling him, as the Toffees would struggle to find an adequate replacement for the 24-year-old ahead of next season.

Likely to happen?
No.
As it stands, Atletico Madrid look like they will need to buy a new goalkeeper in the summer, as according to Don Balon’s report, PSG are likely to pay the £87.3m required to sign Oblak.
But that doesn’t mean the club will rush to make a move for Pickford based on Simeone’s recommendation.
The Spanish giants know that Werner is more than capable of being their new number one, while they scout several goalkeepers before making a decision.
